Leaker Ice Universe previously shared a sketch suggesting that the Galaxy S27 Ultra would move away from the vertical camera arrangement used by recent Galaxy flagships and adopt a horizontal camera bar. Tipster Sonny Dickson has now shared another look at the alleged design. The new material gives the earlier rumor additional support, although Samsung has not announced the Galaxy S27 Ultra or confirmed its final appearance.

Dickson also claimed that the Galaxy S27 Ultra would be available in two different sizes. If accurate, this would be a first for Samsung’s Ultra model and could broaden the flagship’s appeal to customers who want top-tier specifications but prefer a different physical size. The report notes an important uncertainty: Dickson may be describing the rumored Galaxy S27 Pro as another size variant of the Ultra rather than confirming two phones that both literally carry the Ultra name. Samsung’s eventual product positioning will determine which interpretation is correct.
Camera layout could change substantially
New renders attributed to Ice Universe add more detail to the proposed rear-camera design. In the depicted arrangement, the main camera and wide-angle camera are stacked vertically, while the 5x telephoto camera sits in a pill-shaped island together with the flash. The 3x camera unit that previously occupied the lower position in the second camera row is absent from these renders. Because the images are unofficial, they should not be treated as final proof of the production camera system.
Early reaction to the design is mixed to negative
PhoneArena reports that early online reactions to the rumored design have been largely cold. Some commenters consider the new look unattractive, while others argue that Samsung risks losing some of its visual identity and following design ideas associated with Apple. Those reactions are based on leaks and renders, however, and the finished hardware could look different or more convincing in person. A smaller premium Galaxy could create a new option

The leak also suggests that the design change may not spread across the entire Galaxy S27 family. Ice Universe has indicated that the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ are expected to retain the current vertical camera layout. If that information proves accurate, the horizontal camera treatment would be reserved for Samsung’s higher-end model or models, giving the premium tier a more distinct visual identity. Until Samsung officially unveils the series, the number of Ultra variants, their sizes, camera hardware and final industrial design should all be regarded as unconfirmed.
