Pixel Watch 5 Stephen Curry Edition Leak Deepens Google’s Fitbit Connection

Google’s Pixel Watch 5 may deepen the connection between the Pixel Watch and Fitbit with a special Stephen Curry edition, according to newly leaked marketing images. The collaboration appears to borrow a design idea Google introduced with the Fitbit Air earlier in 2026, bringing a sports-focused band and Curry branding to the upcoming Pixel smartwatch.
The leaked images, shared by @OnLeaks and MyMobiles and reported by 9to5Google, show a silver Pixel Watch 5 paired with a special fabric band. The band uses a brown-toned material with orange accents, including raised orange strips on the inner side, giving the edition a distinct appearance without suggesting major changes to the watch hardware itself.
On the outside of the band, the leak shows a badge carrying Stephen Curry’s name and the “#lockin” branding. Marketing material describes the band as water-repellent and says it was designed with the four-time NBA champion for demanding workouts.
Pixel Watch 5 borrows a Fitbit Air collaboration idea
The most notable part of the leak is not simply the color scheme. Google previously introduced a similar Stephen Curry collaboration on the Fitbit Air, so bringing the concept to Pixel Watch 5 would further connect Google’s Pixel wearable line with the Fitbit brand and its fitness-focused identity.
The Pixel Watch has already relied heavily on Fitbit for health and fitness features. A Curry-branded edition would extend that relationship into hardware styling and accessories, using a recognizable athlete partnership to differentiate one configuration of the smartwatch.
Water-repellent coating comes with an important limitation
Although the special band is marketed as water-repellent, Google’s accompanying footnote reportedly makes clear that the protection is not permanent. The coating can diminish or disappear over time as a result of normal wear, environmental exposure and regular use.
That detail is important for a product positioned around workouts. Water repellency on a fabric accessory should therefore not be interpreted as permanent waterproofing, and the condition of the coating may change as the band ages.
Leak points to a €579.99 45mm LTE model
The Stephen Curry edition is reported to cost €579.99 in a 45mm LTE configuration. The leak does not establish whether Google will also sell the collaboration in the smaller 41mm size or as a Bluetooth-only version.
The information remains a leak rather than a final product announcement, so availability, regional pricing and configuration options could still differ when Google formally introduces the Pixel Watch 5. Google’s Made by Google event is scheduled for August 12, 2026, where the new watch is expected alongside the Pixel 11 family.
A special edition focused more on identity than new hardware
Based on the leaked material, the Curry edition appears to distinguish itself mainly through its band, colors and branding rather than through exclusive internal hardware. That makes it closer to a collectible or lifestyle configuration of Pixel Watch 5 than a separate technical model.
For Google, the collaboration could also help bridge its Pixel and Fitbit wearable strategies. By carrying a partnership first seen on Fitbit Air into Pixel Watch 5, Google can use Fitbit’s fitness heritage while positioning Pixel Watch as the more integrated smartwatch within its broader Android, Gemini and Pixel ecosystem.
