Apple’s long-rumored redesign for the iPhone’s 20th anniversary reportedly remains on track for next year’s Pro models, despite a conflicting supply-chain assessment that suggested the all-glass project had been canceled.

According to Bloomberg reporting cited by 9to5Mac, Apple expects to introduce new iPhone Pro models in 2027 with a more glass-focused appearance. The devices are reportedly known internally as V73 and V74.

The current concept is said to use glass on both the front and back, with the material curving into the sides of the phones while a metal band remains through the middle. That differs from an earlier, more ambitious concept that relied on even more glass.

Bloomberg Says Apple’s Product Road Map Has Not Changed

An earlier version promoted by Apple’s design team reportedly reduced the use of metal further, but that approach was abandoned. The company encountered difficulties joining the glass panels and making the design practical for high-volume manufacturing.

Bloomberg’s report directly challenges a Jefferies supply-chain note published earlier the same day. Jefferies analyst Edison Lee had said the all-glass iPhone was canceled because of poor production yields and described the development as a major setback for Apple’s effort to introduce more expensive iPhones.

Jefferies Cut Its Apple Price Target

Following its assessment, Jefferies downgraded Apple shares and lowered its price target from $285.56 to $263.66. The firm had already reduced the target from $308.92 on July 31 after Apple reported fiscal third-quarter 2026 results and issued cautious guidance for the fourth quarter. The two reports therefore differ on whether Apple abandoned the anniversary redesign itself or only an earlier, more ambitious version of the concept.
